These rules may seem simple enough, but it will require great morale and physical courage to adhere to them. But if carried out in the strict sense of the word it will surely lead to a greater success than could otherwise be attained.

Troop 211 has a solid adult leader group, supported by St. Marks Episcopal Church, giving support to the boy leadership. The primary role of parents is the encouragement of their son(s) plus helping with transportation and special events. Parents are also welcome to voluntarily serve on our Troop committee.

Troop 211 is a complete uniform Scout Troop. Each boy is expected to have the full official uniform of the Boy Scouts of America including: green baseball style cap, long or short sleeve shirt with green shoulder loops, long trousers (official – no substitutes) and belt (Scout shorts are optional in the summer). The neckerchief will be supplied to the Scout by the Troop by the first meeting he attends in uniform. The new Scout will also need an official Scout Handbook.
Meet the age requirements. Be a boy who is 11 years old, or one who has completed the fifth grade or earned the Arrow of Light Award and is at least 10 years old, but is not yet 18 years old. Complete a Boy Scout application and health history signed by your parent or guardian. Repeat the Pledge of Allegiance. Demonstrate the Scout sign, salute, and handshake. Demonstrate tying the square knot (a joining knot). Understand and agree to live by the Scout Oath or Promise, Law, motto, and slogan, and the Outdoor Code. Describe the Scout badge. Complete the pamphlet exercises. With your parent or guardian, complete the exercises in the pamphlet How to Protect Your Children From Child Abuse: A Parent’s Guide. Participate in a Scoutmaster conference. Turn in your Boy Scout application and health history form signed by your parent or guardian, then participate in a Scoutmaster conference
